Sushi MAHANA has evolved. Under the vision of Chef Yuki Aida, we now invite you to experience a premium Omakase journey, reimagined through the comforting, seasonal lens of Kyoto-style Obanzai cuisine. In our intimate North Vancouver space, every detail reflects traditional Japanese hospitality, where the finest sushi and soulful home-style dishes come together in harmony.
At Sushi MAHANA, you will discover an Omakase menu that pairs meticulously prepared sushi with comforting Obanzai dishes, all guided by the seasons. Our team crafts each plate using the highest quality ingredients and time-honoured techniques. The result is a dining experience that is both elegant and intimate where every bite honours the balance of precision and soul.
Sushi MAHANA began as a destination for exceptional sushi. Today, we deepen that experience by embracing Obanzai, the heart of Kyoto’s home cooking, to complement our Omakase tasting menu. This evolution is rooted in Chef Aida’s commitment to crafting a dining experience that is elevated, seasonal, and filled with warmth: a celebration of Japanese culinary traditions expressed through both technique and heart.

Seasonal Highlights from Kyoto to Vancouver
Our tasting menu features a selection of dishes that evolve with the seasons. From pristine seafood and market-fresh produce to delicate simmered vegetables and richly flavoured broths, each course showcases the beauty of Japanese craftsmanship and Kyoto’s home-style traditions.
Chef Yuki Aida’s culinary journey began in Japan and matured at Vancouver’s Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts. Her passion for Japanese food culture led her to reimagine Sushi MAHANA as a home for Obanzai-infused Omakase. Alongside Michelin-recommended Grand Executive Chef Yubaco Kamohara, she leads a proudly female-operated team, creating food with integrity, imagination, and a spirit of heartfelt hospitality.
Join us starting June 10th for a redefined Omakase experience unlike any other. Our menu offers a harmonious blend of seasonal sushi, Obanzai-inspired dishes, and thoughtfully curated sake pairings. Premium add-ons are available to enhance your meal.
Reservations open May 25th.
